The subject vehicle was registered on 18 June 2007 using a factory fitted battery (55D23L). The owner had installed Nanopulser PG-12N on 13 August 2008 and the car was found to have the following non-factory installations :
• ALPINE head unit
• ALPINE Digital Sound Processor
• GARMIN GPS navigational unit
• SCAN GAUGE II automotive computer
The vehicle is used daily and the owner do travel overseas on short trips because of work requirements.
The battery was still having a good 90% CCA capacity and float voltage of 12.61v when digital measurements were taken on 17 January 2010!
The owner reports that the vehicle has not given him any issues so far and he did not face any problems starting the car after his overseas trips. He did not feel that his car deteriorated in terms of performance and response either. The owner is quite amazed that his stock battery can last so long without dying…
We will continue to monitor and update on this page the progress of this battery and have no doubts it will surpass 36 months of problem-free service life.
Stay tuned for future updates on this remarkably long serving battery...
